WC0803 Design Strategies for Bilingual Visual Communication
Advanced
Description
You will examine preferred and culturally appropriate design elements based on findings from Hmong and Somali focus groups. An effective process is introduced that can be used when working on multilingual projects that will clarify visual communication for people of diverse cultures. Design elements, typographic variables, and hierarchical differences between the languages are examined, and the differences in visual perception among diverse groups are explained. An emphasis is placed on improving visual communication in ways that support people’s well being.
